Your first login#
After signup HookTrader drops you on the dashboard with the onboarding checklist visible. Before you can save an API key or fire a webhook there's one gate to clear.
Accept the Terms of Service#
A banner at the top of the dashboard links to the Settings page. Tick the box, click Accept, and the banner disappears. You can't add an API key until this is done.
If the ToS is later updated, the same banner reappears. Existing strategies keep trading; only new API keys and new entry signals after you've been shown the banner are blocked until you re-accept.
Password rules#
- Minimum 12 characters.
- Must contain at least one letter, one digit, and one symbol.
- Old passwords are rejected on change.
You can rotate your password at any time on Settings → Password. If your account requires a password change (typical for admin-created accounts), you'll be forced to change it on first login.
Forgot your password?#
Use the Forgot password? link on the sign-in screen. Enter the email on your account; if it matches a registered user, we send a reset link that:
- works once,
- expires after 1 hour.
For security, the response is identical whether or not an account exists — we won't confirm which emails are registered. If the email never arrives, check spam and verify the address you signed up with.
Sessions and tokens#
HookTrader keeps you signed in for 7 days. Signing in on a second device does not log you out of the first. There's no "Active sessions" panel today; rotate your password to sign out all devices.
